Changes Opportunities

This will be the last of the Daily Musings of Dr. Jim Seymour. I will be leaving Cottonwood soon. New opportunities have arisen which I have decided to pursue. I have enjoyed being at Cottonwood these last 10 years but there comes a time when we need to make changes. I am certainly ambivalent about this decision. Cottonwood has been a great place for me and changes are difficult. Change is loss but one thing we know about life is that there are always changes. Life never remains the same. Although there is loss in change there is also the chance for new experiences and growth and new things to look forward to.

The thing I will miss most about Cottonwood is the relationships that I have formed with our staff here. Cottonwood has the finest staff that I have ever been associated with and I have many friends here. They are hard to leave. With the social internet it will be easier to maintain these friendships than it would have been in the past and I am grateful for that.

Cottonwood is the finest treatment facility that I have had the opportunity to work with. I have been blessed to be a part of the recovery and healing of so many people who with great courage have come here to honestly evaluate their lives and make positive changes for their well being. It has really been an honor to be involved in their care here. Cottonwood is truly a healing environment. Those that come here have a unique life changing experience that I believe is unmatched anywhere.

I am also glad to have regularly shared my thoughts in this blog. For all my readers I say thank you and wish you the best.

So I leave Cottonwood with both a heavy heart but also with joy as I think of all the good times I have had here and with forward looking expectation of things to come.

Thought for the day

" Now unto the king eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honor and glory forever and ever amen".

St. Paul
